Cachaca is a sugarcane distillate originating from Brazil and is comparable to white rum. Cachaca is mostly used pure in the caiprinhacoktail or variations of fruit cocktails. Cachaca is made from fresh pressed sugarcane juice instead of the sugarcane sirop or molasse.
Cachaca is a distilled spirit made from sugarcane juice. The difference between Rum and Cachaca is that Cachaca is made from sugarcane juice instead of the molasses that is typically used to produce rum.
The origin is Brazilian and is therefore made exclusively in Brazil where it is know as ‘’pinga’’ and is used in cocktails such as Caipirinha.
Fun fact is that on September 13th it is National Cachaca Day.
